Collar: Popped or Not?

Postby The Shepherd's Hit on Wed Sep 10, 2008 5:17 pm

do you think its better to pop, or not pop your collar?
Popped: conveys your confident that you got the stugots to pull it off
Not Popped: conveys your down-to-earth and dont need other ppl to notice you

thats the way i see it. what do you guys think?

For the places I go, having a popped collar would be pretty damn stupid.

Though there's been a few times where I guess you could've got away with it at some places.

I can't recommend it as it's for a certain crowd I don't go after.

*shrug* it's a matter of personal style imho. Personally, I don't pop my collar. It comes off a little tryhard in my mind. Confident men don't NEED to pop their collar to display their confidence, and a true alpha male simply IS awesome, and displays this by the crowd he rolls with, the stories he tells and the way that he carries himself.

Bottom line. If you like the look and it works for you to generate conversations:

her: "What are you some sort of 80's yuppie? you look like your in a tom cruise movie."

You: "Yeah, people think I'm hotter than Tom Cruise all the time."

then sure, go for it. but I wouldn't spend too much time worrying over it.

Popped collars are awesome. It gets you attention from women. If a guy gives you shit for it repeat this line exactly.

"Wow, I cant say Im used to guys checking out my clothing here. What do you say we focus on the ladies tonight eh?"

From here there are one of two exits.

1) turn to the closest girl or group of girls and say "What about you guys? you think the collar makes the man?"

2) If there are no women around, say "I gotta take a piss" and make a bee line for the bathroom. As you walk away look over your shoulder and say "Dont you follow me now"

Simply put, the popped collar, assuming it goes noticed by someone, can lead to one of three outcomes, each of which you can use to your advantage.

First- A girl notices it off the bat, and opens you.

Second- A guy notices it, there are no girls around. You AMOG him and it gives you a little boost for the night.

Third- A guy notices it, makes fun of you, and you use it as material to open a nearby set.

im sorry, but a popped collar is too try hard, and gives off a yuppie kiss ass attitude and shows a sign of fake alphaness to cover ones insecurity, you don't believe how much i enjoy amoging the shit out of popped collas, I don't give it a rest, till they walk away and try to smoothly pop it back down and say "oh well it's not cold anymore..."

Personally I think if you don't think it looks good, then don't do it
