Never seeked validation, was completely self-assured and never asked anyone for opinions, help, advice, etc.. He seeemed to always have the answer and was completely confident in everything he did..completely congruent in all of his actions with the beleif of himself being the fuck'n man and didn't need anyone or anything. I didn't know his secret back then, I do now though.
That's why I hate opinion openers, it's a dlv right from the start.
I am currently reading Ayn Rand's book the Fountainhead. The main character is exactly like how you describe your friend. I remember Tyler Durden from RSD saying how the main character is pretty much how true alpha's think and behave, they know what they want and they don't care what anyone else thinks of them.
I remember back in high school I would ask girls what they wanted to do in terms of eating/movies etc. Not anymore... I tell them what I want to do and htey can come along if they want.
