Mentalist's day2 Analysis

Postby Steen on Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:46 am

I'm at about the same level of experience as Mentalist in the day#2 video.
From what I saw I think he did a good job, those girls were hot! To me it all looked like textbook pickup (although yes the goal there was only to deliver the opener and get out) yet...

I noticed a few common themes in the reactions of the sets.

The first appeared friendly throughout the interaction yet couldn't seem to get away fast enough after Mentalist said thank you. There was like a half smile over the shoulder then she power walked outta there.

The 2nd set, that was way cool. Mentalist over the shoulder not moving his body until the girl stopped, it was great. Yet no interest from her. She almost whiplashed herself trying to get out.

The 5th set which was probably his most successful were all smiles and laughing while he was talking to him, seemed to be going well, but then when he left the two girls gave each other a look which was almost identical to that given by the girl on the right in the 3rd set. The female "WTF!?" expression, you know the one. I've received it a couple of times myself. God it's viscous! Especially from Asian girls.
It was hardly justified from the 3rd set too, just an innocent lil question from Mentalist and he gets both ignored and THAT look!?

Could some more experienced PUA's constructively critique the video on how Mentalist could have improved his approach for more positive reations.

This of course is not in anyway meant to downplay Mentalists efforts, he looks like a good man the kind you'd like to have a beer with :)
Like I said I think he did a great job and I couldn't have done any better.
I just want to take a lesson from the vid because I'm about at his level.
