i would never get a piercing. thats me, my first job at 16 was at a chemist, and the chemist used to give ear peircings, using a gun, and i used to see it all the time, it was horrible. i could never go with it.

I am not really into this whole peacocking thing, i just try to be stylish as possible. i might wear my bandana on my wrist, or a hair band on my wrist - i used to have long hair. but that is all.

if you want it get it, try it out, if it suits you keep it. At the end of the day it is your decision, no one else, if you feel it aint working get rid of it.

peace

It depends on if it works with your style.

Personal story, I got really drunk at the beach one time and had a buddy who was a pierc-o-holic who talked me into getting my ear pierced at a beachside stand... yeah, I'm fairly conservative and I looked like a jackass, so I ditched it. However my friend looked stupider as the second piercing (they sell piercings in pairs in a lot of places - 2 ears, 2 piercings...) went into his right ear. Never take a friend to get pierced while drunk! :)

As Canibus said, "Try it out" it's not permanent if you remove the piercing after a week or 2 it will close up (mine's scar-free too). If you're working on changing up your style though, do that first and see if the piercing still fits you.

Regarding infections. I haven't heard of any athletic types having problems. Just keep it clean (especially if it gets dirty during games/practice etc.) and you should be fine.

Ear piercings and their success can vary between the look you go for and what you put in it. As far as pain goes it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. I had it pierced for a few months about a year ago, I finally removed them at a time when I cared nothing about the way I looked anymore and wasn't planning on getting any girls, because my employer didn't like me wearing them so I just left them out for good instead of taking them out a bunch. I did look better with them, they worked good with me, and would work really good now especially once ive updated my wardrobe. Im debating whether I want to get them again now as part of my new avatar, they would work great and make me look better (I always get the diamond kind) but my only deterrent is the fact that im about to be looking for a new job and it would make it harder to get one with ear piercings. I will probably just wait till ive got the job, and if I think it would fly at the place, ill ask my employer if he would be ok with it, then ill go re-pierce those fuckers  After seeing this thread I do once again have the desire to pierce em, so hopefully I can.
